TitelDavid Holbrook
BeskrivelseCorrespondence from and about David Holbrook, writer in residence. Much of the material relates to public charges made by Holbrook over the showing of the film 'I Am Curious Yellow' at the Barn Theatre, Dartington, however Holbrook was vociferously opposed to a variety of controversial productions in the early 1970s including 'Oh Calcutta' and Kubrick's 'A Clockwork Orange'. Includes records of a course or conference led by Holbrook, 'Changing Attitudes to the Nature of Man'. Also, correspondence of Maurice Ash; Ruth Foster; Royston Lambert; Michael Young; and Christopher Walbank. Includes a statement by Holbrook, 'My Relationship with Dartington Hall.' Also, a memorandum for the Trustees, 'Dartington and the Debasement of Man' (Dec 1971). Exchanges of letters between Holbrook and Ash debate morality and the Dartington Hall experiment.
