TitelGerald Heard
BeskrivningCorrespondence between Gerald Heard and Leonard Elmhirst. About sixty manuscript letters are from Gerald Heard mentioning mutual acquaintances, the development of the Dartington Hall experiment, and Heard's activities. Includes a reprint article by Heard, 'The Dartington Experiment', from the Architectural Review for Apr 1934. A letter and notes (Nov 1935) detail an emergency meeting between Elmhirst, Heard, and Felix Green discussing potential scandal at various progressive schools in England. Attached notes of a meeting (5 Nov 1935) with W B Curry discuss the same matter. A two penny pamphlet includes two addresses delivered in 1935, Gerald Heard 'The Significance of the New Pacifism', and Aldous Huxley 'Pacifism and Philosophy.' There is also a manifesto for Trabuco College (Sep 1942). A typed copy of a letter to Margaret Isherwood from Elmhirst discusses Trabuco. Letters mention Aldous Huxley and Christopher Wood.
