It includes the Constitution of the governing body and records of proposed selection of Governors, including: Clifford Ellis, Bath Academy of Art; William Glock, Summer School of Music; Bernard Naylor, teacher and composer; Anne Wood, Joint Principal Opera School (declined because of management issues within the Music School), Mervyn Bruxner; Reports to the Governors by the Warden; records relating to the Ministry of Education, H M I General Inspection of the Music School and the subsequent Report by H M Inspectors (1956). Mention is made of the resignation of John Clements and appointment of Richard Hall as new Director of Music, also correspondence concerning proposed Dance School alterations. There is a report for proposals and a subsequent draft Statement to the Ministry of Education on the 'proposed Scheme for Training Specialist Teachers of Music on a joint 3 year course to be carried out with St. Luke's and Rolle Colleges'. |
