| Aktivitet | Choreographer. Developed the Laban-Lawrence System of industrial motion with Frederick Lawrence, management consultant and director of Dartington Hall Ltd. Laban came to Dartington Hall in 1938. He had been Jooss' teacher in Germany. Whilst in Germany Laban developed a system of movement notation and during the World War II in England, he adapted the system to ease the strain for manual workers in factories. He left Dartington Hall due to wartime restrictions in 1940, and moved with Lisa Ullmann to Manchester where they set up the Art of Movement Studio, which later joined Goldsmiths College in London. |
