Aktivitet | Dancer. Came to Dartington from the Cornish School in Seattle, USA, where as Head of the Dance Department she taught Dalcroze Eurythmics and Dance Design. Two years of outstanding work there brought her in contact with the leading contemporary dancers of America, and she was then invited to England where in collaboration with Margaret Barr she established the School of Dance Mime at Dartington Hall. She joined the Ballets Jooss, who were also at Dartington Hall. She later moved to London with her second husband, Basil Langton, where they formed the Travelling Repertory Theatre, which visited Dartington for a time during the war. Divorced from Langton, Lou taught dance at Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio while running a riding centre. |
