AktivitetOpened in 1971, Dartington House was an attempt by Leonard Elmhirst to bring together in one building, using a common library, the Institute of Agrarian Affairs (IAA), the Institute for Research into Agricultural Economics (IRAE) and the Commonwealth Agricultural Bureau (CAB) international digesting service, the World Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology Abstracts (WAERSA). Dartington House was the chance to build a permanent home for these associations for the promotion of studies, training and research in the field of agricultural economics for the world as a whole. Also as a base for a permanent graduate school in Oxford in the field of agricultural economics, and for the training of people from less developed countries (edit).
