| Aktivitet | Founded in 1843 by John Bennet Lawes, it is the oldest Experimental Station in the World, specialising in scientific agriculture. In 1911, the Development Commission constituted Rothamsted as a centre for fundamental work on soil, plant nutrition and pathology, entomology, and bees. In 1927, it was selected by the Imperial Agricultural Conference as the location of the Imperial Bureau of Soil Science. |
