Her letter of 27 Aug 1921 discusses class and aristocracy in Britain and America, and briefly mentions Louis Brandeis and the trial of Sacco and Vanzetti. Leonard describes his homecoming, 31 Aug 1921. His letter of 3 Sep 1921 mentions Charles Freer Andrews, Sir Horace Plunkett and William Rothenstein. Dorothy mentions her work with Herbert Croly editing the letters and diaries of Willard Straight; Cornell University and Prof Bancroft. Leonard writes from Sir Horace Plunkett's house, Co Dublin, 21-23 Sep 1921 mentioning Sir Horace Plunkett, Lady Fingal, and Gerald Heard, negotiations for Irish independence, George Russell [AE] and Irish cooperatives, and a chance meeting with Lionel Curtis. Dorothy writes from Old Westbury, 19-20 Sep 1921 mentioning families; meetings in New York with women labour leaders, the Bureau of Industrial Research and support for the miners union, also grief for Willard Straight, philanthropy, Sabatier's biography of St Francis of Assisi. Dorothy writes again, 27 Sep 1921, expressing confidence in Leonard and doubt over whether she is right for him.
