Serge Strenkovsky was at one time a member of the Moscow Art Theatre. He came to America with Michael Chekhov's company - The Moscow Art Players Company - which performed in New York in February and March of 1935, followed by engagements in Philadelphia and Boston. "The Art of Make-up" by Serge Strenkovsky was published by E P Dutton & Company, New York 1937.
Michael Chekhov invited Strenkovsky to come to Dartington in the summer of 1937 to give a course in make-up to a selected group of members of the Chekhov Theatre Studio and the Jooss-Leeder Ballet School. |
