Began acting career in Russia and later went to Germany, wrote several plays and adaptations for European stages, and wrote and co-directed several films best known of which was 'No Man's Land' ('Hell on Earth'). After working in Paris and London, Shdanoff joined the Chekhov Theatre Studio where he worked as a playwright, teacher and co-director with Michael Chekhov. Adapted 'The Possessed' based on ideas from Dostoyevsky. Later taught acting in California. |
