Aktivitet | Funded, and founded by the Dartington Hall arts department commencing at Dartington for the summer term 1934.Accepted students, 1934-1940, until Kurt Jooss, Sigurd Leeder, and other instructors from the Ballets Jooss then resident at Dartington, were interned c1940 during World War II. The Ballets Jooss and the School of Dance moved to Cambridge c1941. Programmes indicate that performances in the Barn Theatre at Dartington in the 1930s included The Green Table, The Big City, Ballade, The Mirror, The Prodigal Son, Pavane, A Ball in Old Vienna, The Seven Heroes, Chronica, A Spring Tale, and Johann Strauss, To-night! A performance of some of these also took place at Dartington Hall in 1953. |
