ActivityCame to Dartington in 1927 to help sort Leonard's collection of books and was appointed the first librarian. Teacher; Acting joint headmaster with Victor Elmhirst, Dartington Hall School, 1929-1930. He ran the Dartington Hall Film Unit for a period after the death of its founder William Hunter. He was Editor of News of the Day 1928-1931. He left in 1935 to become a student at the London School of Economics, funded by Dorothy, studying economic history and gained a First Class Honours Degree. He returned to Dartington to teach history and Latin for twelve years. In 1946 he was made director of the Dartington Film Unit. Subsequently (possibly 1946) he joined the Educational Foundation for Visual Aids for thirteen years, followed by a post as an adviser to UNESCO, spending much time in Pakistan and Nigeria as adviser to the Minister of Education on the way standards in the schools should be maintained and improved. In 1973 he retired from UNESCO at the age of 70 and retired to Dartington.
