ActivityIn 1958, the World Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology Abstracts (WAERSA) was established by the International Conference of Agricultural Economists. The Commonwealth Agricultural Bureau proposed to establish a Commonwealth Bureau of Agricultural Economics (CBAE) in oxford to publish the WEARSA Journal. WAERSA is now online as a bibliographic and abstracts database of internationally published research on rural socioeconomic research. The database covers agricultural economics to farm economics, food industry and rural sociology. It includes policy and development, agrarian reform, employment, environmental and natural resources, biotechnology, input industries, markets, marketing, consumers, international trade, finance, education and extension, and the rural economy.
