ActivityBefore the war it was suggested that a society or association should be organised to link together scientific workers and others with particular interest in animal husbandry and production. In August 1939 the Imperial Bureau of Animal Breeding and Genetics was asked to explore the possibility of forming a society. The objects of the Society was to provide opportunities for the exchange of ideas in the general field of animal production, to foster the development of investigation in this field, and to stimulate the incorporation into practice of the results of scientific work.
