ActivityLeading Moslem authority on calendar matters, visited many Arab countries to confer with statesmen and leaders seeking their support in the calendar reform programme at the United Nations. Principally visited Iran, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Turkey and Egypt. Initiated in Hyderabad a movement to synchronise the dates of the Fasli months with the Gregorian calendar; finally succeeded in 1946 in persuading the Nizam to authorise the proposed reform. His success in this far reaching revision emboldened him as a liberal Moslem to analyse the problem of introducing effectively The World Calendar in the realm of the Crescent. A disciple of Dr Mirza Abul Fazi, deeply interested in the study of the Qur'an and aware of the significance of its chronological order. He translated the Qur'an into English and arranged it chronologically. He adopted a method of arranging the Surahs according to chronological order without affecting the present arrangement of the ayaat therein and making changes in the existing arrangement of the Qur'an to the minimum possible extent, in which he succeeded considerably.
