DescriptionCorrespondence with Freda Lethbridge includes a long letter written in 1989 recording her childhood in Totnes and describing her work as assistant to Sigurd Leeder mentioning the wartime internment of Kurt Jooss, Sigurd Leeder and Hein Heckroth. Lethbridge's letter also discusses her employment from 1942-1962 as a joiner with the Staverton Builders; Boris Ranevsky. Other correspondents include Eileen Long (mentions film 'I lived in Grosvenor Square', 1944, partly shot at Dartington Hall); Nick March; Yvonne Markham; Herbert Mills including long recollections of Dartington, 1911-1961, and discussing his early life in Dartington, employment, and work building the reservoir, and a description of life as a footman at Dartington Hall, and the reconstruction of the estate.
