There are verbatim minutes of a meeting of the Committee with statements by Eduard Lindeman, Ruth Morgan, and George Soule, discussing especially the work of the Women's Trade Union League. A typed letter (7 pp), 12 Mar 1933, describes Lydia Parrish's ethnomusicology work in Georgia; 'Recommendations made by Mrs Elmhirst's Committee at Meeting of 21 Feb 1933'; a letter to Bogue from Elizabeth Reynolds Hapgood mentions Maria Ouspenskaya and Stanislavski; copy of Committee notes, 29 Mar 1933, discusses A J Muste and support for Brookwood Labor College; a letter to Bogue from Nellie Cornish discusses the Cornish School's financial crisis 14 Mar 1933; there are also letters from Alexander and Helen Meiklejohn. A note from Bogue, 20 Apr 1933 mentions acquisition of 2 drawings of 'Emperor Jones' and a framed picture of the set for 'Antigone' which were purchased from the Theatre Arts Section of the Architectural League Exhibition and sent to England. |
