DescriptionThis folder contains Leonard Elmhirst and J R Currie's correspondence primarily regarding the future of the Institute of Agrarian Affairs (IAA), the development of the site at Oxford, 31 St Giles' by Dartington Hall Trustees which would attempt to bring together the IAA, the Institute for Research into Agricultural Economics (IRAE) and the International digesting service that the Commonwealth Agricultural Bureau (CAB) was hoping to establish in Oxford.

Subjects include: the transfer of the World Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology Abstracts (WAERSA) to the UK and into 31 St Giles'; appointments including particulars for the post of editor for the WAERSA; the cataloguing and abstracting of documents; a Commission of Inquiry at Oxford to inquire into and report upon the part which Oxford plays now and in the future in the systems of higher education as both a national and international University; the continuation of the publication of proceeding and the journal of the IAAE; the future of the Digests of Agricultural Economics with its possible incorporation into the WAERSA; and meetings of the Committee of Management for the IAA.
