| Description | Includes 17 draft chapters of a book by J J Findlay examining the Dartington Hall experiment. The book was to have been published as The Dartington Community: A Story of Social Achievement with an Appendix on the Cotswold Bruderhof. Written between 1937 and 1939, the manuscript was never published and Findlay died at Redworth, Totnes, 9 Sep 1940. Also includes a research questionnaire (Margaret Isherwood, 1931) examining the Dartington Hall enterprise as an educational experiment in rural reconstruction. Includes an exchange with Prof F C Bartlett at the Psychological Laboratory, Cambridge, analysing the Dartington community (1934). |
