There are two notes on the back, reading: 'Taken on Beatrices' birthday, Aug 2nd, the first year Mr Chekhov came to Dartington Hall, 1936', 'Dec 1951 Upon the visit of Ms Elmhirst [Beatrice] she expressed appreciation of the photo'. Both appear to have been written by George Bennett. |
