| Activity | A post-graduate student of Imogen Holst at Dartington in 1948 to 1950, she joined Imogen Holst's Purcell Singers on its formation in 1952. In 1964 she became Music Assistant to Benjamin Britten. On his death in 1976, she remained in Aldeburgh to work for the Britten Estate and the Britten-Pears Library, retiring in 1992. In the mid-1970s she joined the Board of G & I Holst Ltd and the Council of the Holst Foundation, becoming Chairman of both at the end of 1992. She was awarded an Hononary MA by the University of East Anglia in 1990 and Fellowship of the Dartington College of Arts in 2003. |
