ActivityMusician (Viola). In the early 1930s she went to Berlin to study with Carl Flesch and Max Rostal, whom she helped to escape from Nazi Germany. In 1936 she became a founder member of the Dartington Hall Music Group, from which evolved the Robert Masters Quartet. Taught at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and in 1973 became organising secretary of the British branch of the European String Teachers Association.
