Activity | Founder of the Cornish School of the Allied Arts in Seattle, which she ran and where Beatrice studied. Several teachers at the school - Mark Tobey, Dickie Odlin and Lou Soelberg among them - were persuaded by Beatrice to go to Dartington. Students at the Cornish School studied all the arts; an actor who was there to study drama would also learn music, art and dance as part of his training. Dorothy gave financial assistance to the Cornish School, which was to a degree the model for the arts at Dartington Hall School. |
