DescriptionThis folder contains correspondence and papers including reports and memoranda and a press cutting describing in detail the establishment, function, purpose, organisation, scope, programme of research and advisory work of the Agricultural Economics Research Department at Dartington Hall. Outlined in the papers are lines of research including a Farm Management Survey, Cost Account Studies, Marketing Studies, and Price Studies.

Correspondents include: Leonard Elmhirst; J R Currie; William K Slater; and Eric S Porter. Subjects include: the function of the farm economists; practical training for 15 and 18 year old boys that would eventually develop into a course in Land Management; the Research Grants Board; a request for a typewriter; managerial costing; the purchase of machinery including a Power Tabulating Machine and demonstrations of its function; points of principle, policy and technique; auditors reports and accounts.
