| Description | Consists of later personal correspondence between Tobey and Dorothy and Leonard Elmhirst, principally about various exhibitions of his art. One letter, (28 Nov 1961) mentions Leonard's impressions of Tobey's Louvre retrospective in Paris. Also included is a gouache painting on paper by Pehr Hallsten, Tobey's companion, which was sent to the Elmhirsts in 1962. A letter (15 Nov 1963) mentions Tobey's gift to the Elmhirsts of a painting, '...last of the Meditation Series 1954'. There are also letters about the Tobey exhibition assembled at Dartington in 1964. |
