Beskrivelse | Provenance and repair information about a 1614 Andreas Ruckers harpsichord acquired by Leonard and Dorothy Elmhirst in Bath in 1925. Much of the correspondence relates to restorations of the instrument in the 1940s and 1960s. Includes a set of photographs of the restoration by Hug of Basel, 1964, bound by E McNally for Leonard Elmhirst and returned to the archive by John Wellingham in 2007 (LKE had loaned the photographs and they had been forgotten and not returned to him). Also includes the administrative records relating to the Ruckers, its use by Jane Chapman for the recording of the Bauyn Manuscript (recordings are in the archive) and its ultimate sale via Sotheby's Auctioneers to Dr. Gibson, 113 Cheyne Walk, London, SW10 OES |
