ActivityA Fellowship of tree lovers whose aims are to prevent the destruction of the worlds natural beauty through 'indiscriminate felling' and to encourage the growing of trees. The Men of the Trees is a voluntary forestry society which encourages the protection, preservation and planting of trees throughout the British Isles and the USA. First founded in Africa by Richard St. Barbe Baker, among the tribesmen of Kenya, in order to save their land from the destruction of forests. From this came the idea of a world-wide association. Richard St. Barbe Baker died in 1982.
