Aktivitet | Artist-in-residence, poet, potter, and pupil of Bernard Leach. A close friend of Dorothy Elmhirst, Sylvia (Jane) Fox-Strangways came to Dartington at the recommendation of Bernard Leach in 1926. From then until 1929 she taught drawing and painting on the estate and created pottery. Sylvia Fox-Strangeways (c.1920-1925) attended classes at the Central and Camberwell Schools of Art and at the Royal College of Art. In 1926 she worked at the Leach Pottery, St Ives.
