| Aktivitet | Body established by central government to examine, to award degrees and diplomas, and to approve syllabuses of public sector higher education institutions which did not have the right to award their own degrees and diplomas and did not have them validated by other institutions. The Further and Higher Education Act 1992 provides for the dissolution of the CNAA and the extension of the power to award degrees to institutions other than universities, particularly to the former polytechnics.
