Correspondence is between Leonard Elmhirst and: Wilfred E Hiley; REFS presidents, C Ackers, W St. Warde-Aldam, and Nigel A Orde-Powlett; REFS secretaries, J Davidson, R Gardner, and A Wilkinson; Sir Francis Younghusband; and Sir Francis Acland.

Subjects include: divisional and annual meetings; visits to woodlands; suggestions regarding the extension of activities; a Home Grown Timber Marketing Scheme and Central Committee; appointments and elections to the council; and meeting discussions including how the Society might help small estates and the working forester.

Additional material includes: REFS membership form; an article for 'The Timber Trades Journal'; notes on the Forestry Exhibitions at The Devon County Agricultural Show; a copy of the draft rules of the Society; a press cutting; programmes for the REFS South Western Division's visits to the Bradley Estate Woods, Dartington Hall Estate, Stourhead, and the Sherborne Castle Estate Woods; a programme for the REFS summer meeting in Exeter 1934, containing handwritten notes; and a Dartington Hall Woodland Department Catalogue of Forest Trees.
