AktivitetAdult and teacher education. The Devon Centre provided residential facilities for a wide variety of courses connected with education, the social services and health. It was funded by and was the responsibility of Devon County Council and was managed by Dartington College of Arts. An Advisory Committee was formed with membership drawn from the Trust, the College of Arts and the County. T A Q (Tom) Griffiths was Warden from 1963-1985 and was succeeded by David Cox, who left in 1989 (?), with his deputy Mary Collins taking acting control until her departure in 1990, to be followed by Sylvia Egglington. In 1989 the Trust served notice on the County for the surrender of all premises in the Courtyard occupied by the Devon Centre and Dartington College of Arts, and the Centre closed in 1992 with the creation of the Dartington Centre (later to be known as The Dartington Conference Centre, then Dartington Accomodation and Catering Services).
